I would like to share a little about myself and how GraceWalks came to be. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to work in several career fields ranging from social work to education to business. I have a masters in education and a doctorate in business management with a concentration in mentoring and coaching. But through the years there has been one consistent ingredient I have found to be essential to success. That ingredient is the ability to protect and optimize our health. Without good health, there is no success in any area of our lives. At GraceWalks we want to support you and keep you at your best by providing trainings and activities that have been researched and proven to bring successful results. We understand that your time is valuable and limited; so we are committed to continuously researching activities and methods that give you the greatest value and productivity.

Regular exercise is one of the most important things you can do for your body👣
Research continues to pour in on the benefits of regular exercise to not only our body but also our brain. Regular exercise like walking and running reduce the odds of developing cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, strokes. Also, it has been proven to help reduce weight gain, lower our blood pressure, prevent depression and just make us feel better overall.
In addition, even more recent research indicates that regular walking, specifically aerobic walking and running can boost the hippocampus, the brain area involved in verbal memory and learning and according to Harvard Health Publishing, a new case study indicates it can possibly reduce and/or help prevent dementia, a growing global problem.The article estimates that by the year 2050, more than 115 million people will have dementia worldwide. https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/regular-exercise-changes-brain-improve-memory-thinking-skills-201404097110
So why with all this research on the benefits of walking and running regularly do most of us not do it!
The number one reasons is we may start out with enthusiasm but too often we become injured and often times it becomes difficult to begin again. Running itself is one of the most injury prone sports and once we stop, it becomes difficult to build up the stamina again to continue a regular program, which is essential to keeping the health benefits gained from regular exercise. Walking, particularly aerobic or fitness walking (which give the greatest health benefits) can also cause injury if our bodies are not positioned in a way that moves the body forward properly.
